I've never really heard of this product before... why would I use this over an oven and a $2 tray? Is it for people without conventional ovens?

It's the same price at Wal-Mart so take amazons "list price" with a grain of salt. I got one of these when the igniter on my oven went out and it's definitely worth it if you make pizzas very often, regardless of whether or not you have a conventional oven. No preheating makes it much faster and you can fine tune things by using only the lower or upper heating element.

no need to pre heat. pizza comes out really really good.

- Comes out really really good in a conventional oven too, since it sounds like you've used this before, does it come out better or is there no real difference?

It sounds like it's for people who either don't have an oven, or who don't wait to wait the 5 minutes for the oven to pre-heat.

Price is hot, I just want to make sure I know what it's good for before I drop some $$ on it. For those who don't want to spend hundreds on an oven, or who live in a dorm without an oven, this sounds like an awesome deal for pizza eaters. I just don't know much about it.

I think it comes out better and it probably saves power too. You can finely adjust if you want just the top or just the bottom cooked more, etc. Saves time too in my opinion. You can actually cook more than just pizza on it too, your imagination is limit.

It is a power saver . Imagine how many cubic feet your regular over has and how much power it takes to warm that area up . Once your done with your 15 minute cooking , the A/C in your home/apartment has to get rid of the heat the oven added .
Heating is much more expensive than A/C , if your on heat strips and a oven is basically the same as heat strips .
Id Imagine this unit could save a pizza eating family the purchase price in electricity within 6 months or less .

Why I like mine: (Some points made above)

Perfect pizza - every time. It has a timer, so you can't overcook one.
You can tweak the cooking time/levels, want a more crispy crust? Run the bottom only for a few minutes.

Nearly zero cleanup.

Doesn't heat up the whole apartment.

I might use it MAYBE 1-2 per week, but ig convenient, efficient, and puts out a damn tasty pizza.

How does this compare to a pizza-stone for home-made pizza?
I've gotten into making pizza by hand/bread-machine, and I doubt I'll ever have a frozen pizza again.

The bigger issue for me is having another appliance in a small kitchen.

Yeah, we have one of these at our house that belongs to a prevous roommate... I always tell him when i see him that he will never get it back. Pizza Pizzaz rules! If I actually had any money i would so buy this right now.

These are really nice. They work well for your standard frozen pizza. You will probably have to do some fine tuning to cook some of the gourmet pizzas.

$35-40 seems to be the "regular" price for this pizza oven so I wouldn't necessarily call it a Hot Deal..but I would definitely recommend getting one if you make pizza on a regular basis. As others have mentioned, not only does it save power and let you fine tune the heat, but it also saves time. Not just for preheating your oven, but also the bake time of 20-odd min for frozen pizza in the regular oven gets cut down to about 12-15 on the Pizzazz..you use the shorter baking times on the Pizzazz instead of the printed time.

Hmmmm good question. In the meantime, just freeze your homemade pizza first
