Read couple of previous post but I think this is the best deal.

I just bought the Epson C60 printer from OfficeMAX.....

$49.99 (from this weeks flyer and add the TAX)
-$20.00 (Office Depot B&M coupon)
---------------
$29.99
-$20.00 (officeMAX gift card... rebate)
------------------
$9.99ish... little more with TAX

not bad considering i'll eventually buy some multi-purpose paper later on.

AND the coupon link from ANANDTECH:
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=40&threadid=863023

PS-Can someone teach me to place link correctly?

"PS-Can someone teach me to place link correctly?"

Since you don't have PM enabled:

Highlight the URL you want to link to. Right click on it, and select Copy.

On the Message Text: tool bar, left click on "http". Right click on the highlight, and select Paste. Click OK.

Then type in the text that you want to be visible in your post, click OK, and it will be an underlined hyperlink.

Other thread.

I picked one up earlier but had some trouble with the store I bought it at.

I called prior to going to make sure the Mgr was aware they're supposed to take competitors coupons. She stated as long as it was one that came in the mail and not an internet coupon. I explained to her the coupon is an instore coupon that I rec'd in an email. She then said they don't accept those because it's considered an internet coupon. After going in circles with her I said forget it and called Cust Serv.

I faxed a copy of the coupon to the csr and she said it is a valid coupon and then called the store Mgr that was hassling me. After 20 mins the csr said the store Mgr just doesn't get it. She said the coupon should be accepted by all OM's but this particular Mgr is misinterpretting company policy. She apologized that she couldn't get anywhere with the Mgr and said she wouldn't even be able to order one for me as it's not on the web site.

I ended up buying it at full price and taking it to another store for a return/rebuy with the coupon. I had called the Mgr of the 2nd store prior to going in and explaining what I was trying to do and he said he had no problem with that. He also said he knew the Mgr of the 1st store and didn't know why she didn't accept the coupon per company policy. He apologized profusely for what I had to go through to get the printer but in the end I got one.

btw...the store that refused the coupon was the OM in Cerritos. So unless there's another Mgr besides Denise in the store forget about using it there. Like I said earlier, even after Corp called her and told her to accept the coupon she still told them she wouldn't do it.

So which store accepted the coupon Carmann?

I've called in Pasadena and Baldwin Park, and they both won't take that coupon.

Lakewood store accepted the coupon and the one in Signal Hill also said they'd take the coupon.

I got my C60 FREE. Thats FREE
I went to BB and bought their C60 for $60 with a $30 rebate, which printed up with the rebate receipt. Then, I went to OD and bought their C60 for $50 less their printable $20 off coupon. I kept the rebate receipt and register rebate form from BB and returned their C60 for my $60 back. Then, I cut the barcode from the OD c60 and sent it in to BB with their rebate recipt and form.
BB c60 $60 + OD c60 $50 - $20 coupon - BB c60 $60 refund - $30 BB rebate = FREE !!
And, I got to screw BB in the process, as they wouldn't match the OD price of $10 less.

Actually GeneT I hate to burst your bubble but you screwed yourself, not BestBuy . On your BB receipt near the top you will find a 11 digit number on the same line that the date & time is printed, in this format : XXXX XXX XXXX . This is a unique id for that purchase, and all returns/price-matches/etc. to that original purchase. When you returned the C60 at BB for a refund their system knows that the unit was returned by the customer, and the customers' funds returned to him/her. This, of course, invalidated the rebate associated with that transaction. In addidion, from the "fine print" of the Epson rebate at BB.Com :

Best Buy reserves the right to deny rebate claims if deemed to be fraudulent. Fraudulent claims will not be honored or acknowledged.

You paid $30 for the printer - OD $50 less $20 coupon.

I didnt notice the $20 gift card/rebate on the c60. Where do you find it at? I got the c-40 for $10 after rebate/coupon instead but will exchange it for thr better c-60 if I can find the info for the $20 thing!

I thought I was gonna pay $30 and i was about to walk off from the register... then the cashier gave me a rebate reciept telling me to get the rebate form from their rebate book. I tried to et the C40 as well but OM was out of stock. I also found out C40 only has a USB connection... for printers I like using the parallel port... personal preference.

Thanks ScottS, I appreciate the BB info regarding their rebate ID. So, since I hadn't mailed it yet (being a holdiay and all), I went to BB and returned the C60. Then, I went to OM and did like the original post here. It now cost me $10 rather than FREE, but it was for someone else anyway, so I'm OK with it.
I did pretty good yesterday anyway, with a FREE C40, a $10 C60, a FREE 40x CDRW, and a $80 C80.

This printer was rated the #1 economy SOHO printer.
OM, BB, OD are all in the same shopping center here, so its not too much work if you're alread there.

Ink . . . yes.

Unfortunately OM was OOS (it says "no rainchecks, limited supply") and substituted the (cheaper) C40 for the same deal $50-$20 (OD coupon)-$20 GC = $10 (and tax).

Hey I needed ink and a pinter. . . . they are also trying to find me a C60, so I won't open the box for a week.

If I cannot get the C60 is the C40 a "reasonable" substitute for the same $10? I know it is cheaper (slower) but has the same printing resolution. Can't find specs on the Epson website.

It's in the HUGE "Office Depot PRINTABLE $20 off $50 IN-STORE coupon" Hot Deals thread - it never drops off pages 1-3 . . . "search" is your best friend.
