Went into Best Buy today and noticed an ad for this phone (Model 39230-4) for $17.99 + $10 rebate.

Found it on the shelf with a special price of $9.99 with $10 rebate = FREE!!

This is not the best phone in the world, but it makes a nice backup.

The title is misleading and should be changed to reflect FREE AFTER REBATE (AR).

Furthermore, why would people waste their time to buy a crappy phone when for only $14.99 Fry's was selling a 900 MHz from Panasonic?

I agree. Life is too short to use a phone from northwestern bell. Uniden and Panasonics perform MUCH better than junk.

If the rebate goes to some other location besides BB Rebates in Calais, be warned that you might have difficulties claiming your rebate. NWBell is one of 2 company that never pay their rebate in my entire rebate deals. And the phone quality is indeed horrible, although that might not matter if what you spent is only taxes + 34c.
