Or bundled with an ASUS A8V motherboard (no additional savings, and over-priced IMHO):

In the past, TD has had questionable rebate practices, but I've had no trouble with them since they started using (or just plain started) "OnRebate."

Enjoy!

Beware of this rebate. Like all tigerdirect stuff, there should be some caution. I specifically had a rebate refused by onerebate. When I replied and told them I'll re-send the documents, I received NO repsonse from them. I have emailed them about 6 times and have heard nothing back. Granted, it was a soyo rebate, but I at least expect a response.

And the grain of salt that goes with any statement: I am wary and the store is about 2 miles form work. I always go to that store to buy stuff. We HAD a corporate account there.

Best of luck to you,
EH

let me just say onrebate sucks try and try to avoid them at all cost if they are going to be the one processing your rebate. they still have a $100 for me from June which should finally get processed within 48hrs I was told.

ZZF doesn't show a Socket 939 Athlon 64 3400+ processor right now on their website. They show 3 Athlon 64 3400+'s: ADA3400AXBOX boxed for $231, ADA3400BOX boxed for $235 and ADA3400AEP5AP OEM for $238. All three are Socket 754 as designated by the A after the model #. If that was a D, it would have been Socket 939

Tiger Direct (et all) ship their OEM CPUs in their own packaging, which has a UPC on it.

its the same as the 3500+, but instead of 1Ghz HTT, its 800Mhz HTT, thus the reduction in price. i think that you will not notice much of a diff at all between 1Ghz and 800Mhz htt, as you could always overclock it anyways

I don't quite understand why you guys are getting screwed by rebates and not doing anything about it. Bottom line is that it is ILLEGAL. Contact the BBB, write a letter to the company, do whatever it takes. Not getting a rebate is just like the company stealing that money from you. The rebate is a written agreement.

I hear all the time "You won't see any rebates from xxx". Guess what, if everyone one of those guys complained to the BBB, I guarantee xxx would either shut down or send out the rebates.

Gotensan01- While I do agree that you have legal recourse for companies who fail to fullfill rebates, the BBB is not going to help. The BBB is a voluntary organization that companies pay dues to. I seriously doubt Tiger Direct is a member, and even if they were, the worst the BBB could do is put them on there bad person list.

To pursue a legal recourse requires quite a bit of time- time which usually exceeds the value of the rebate.

What most of us have learned is to stick with reliable companies that have a history of honoring their rebates. Tiger Direct has a bad history and a bad reputation. While there may be legal recourse, most of us prefer to just avoid the hassle.

Just my thoughts...

I agree with you completely. That is exactly the reason why when I built my computer 4 months ago, I bought everything from Newegg. Although I spent a more money, I had the piece of mind.

However, maybe it's just the type of person that I am but I would never let a company get away with stealing my money. Even if it were just for #10, it's the principle that they think they can get away with it. And they think that because most people would maybe write and email and end it there. Maybe when it comes down to taking actual action I am all talk too, but I hope that if this ever happened to me I wouldn't just bend over and take it.

Lately this rebate issue and "price errors" have been pissing me off. I say "price errors" because I wonder how many times it is done "accidently" to bait & switch or bring traffic through their website.

I think I'm going to buy this and try to get the rebate...we'll see what happens.
