I'm lucky I got in at Fileshack as soon as I saw that post here - I only had to wait a minute or so, and then it was a 500+k/sec download...15-20 minutes at the most. Runs very well on an X1900XT so far

Im downloading now, make sure yall come back to post your thoughts. This game sounded interesting, but watching the gameplay movie it looked like a cliche shooter, with some quirky gimicks.

Well, the game has nice graphics, and runs well (Sempron64 3200+, 1gb DDR333, 6800PCIE stock) but yet again, another brand-new game that doesn't have widescreen resolution choices. It has Aspect Ratio choices, but no corresponding WS res.

I really enjoyed the Art Bell spot, I'm an old fan of the original Art Bell show (not the new Coast to Coast AM w/whoever).

It looks like it might be fun to play, but I don't enjoy the organic sections, as I'm not fond of game throwing things in your face that might try to eat you or something. It sure is pretty, though.

edit: Forgot to mention, this game doesn't have a flashlight, it has a lighter

edit2: Just finished the demo. The anti-grav catwalks, and changing the gravity for puzzles is neat, and something new in FPS, as is the "Spirit Walk". The "portals" feature is also quite cool. This game actually looks promising.

I only have one real problem with it, and it's the same problem I had with Quake4: It looks a lot like Doom3. Which is something I was afraid of when I first saw Doom3, that all d3-engine games would look similar. Oh well, it still seems to be a fun game, and I'll definately be picking this one up.

Yeah, I was disappointed at that too. Can set 16:10 aspect ratio, but you have to set up the height/width and r_mode in the console yourself...just makes no sense for a game released in 2006.

Ran smooth as butter for me too on my P4-3.06, 1 gig DDR400(running much slower), and an X850XT-AGP at 1280x1024(my LCD's max res) with everything set to high.

It was fun and a decent length for a demo. I even played the slot machine in the bar and hit the jackpot! It reminded me of another game I can't remember the name of right now with all it's portals and spirits, etc. Good use of the Doom3 engine and definitely has a Doom3 type feel to it so it was smart that they included a flashlight but didn't really need it much.

Overall, I liked it.

Nothing like getting abducted by a UFO to Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't fear the reaper"! Now where is my cowbell?

Just finished the demo ( approx 1 1/2 hour i think, not sure )

Was pretty fun, played well on a 6600GT AXP2400+ 768MB PC133 at 1024x768 High Detail ( whatever those settings are in the menu ).

I liked the mix of fantasy and scifi/alien tech and the unusual way of traveling the levels.

I wonder how long the game is and if it can keep gameplay interesting - not just long sections of shoot-em up aliens.

Grabbed it off a private torrent this morning and played one level of multiplayer. I was hesitant about the ability of my PC to play it, but it actually ran decently (albeit at low settings). I've got a 2.6ghz P4 with 1gb ram - but a Ti4200 video card, so I'm surprised it ran at all.

I really feel like I'm missing out because of my ancient video card, but I can't afford the powersupply+next gen card right now. Gotta feed and clothe myself first

Ive heard before, and read ( somewhere ) that usually in demo's...when the graphical settings are maxed, they dont work. They only work in the retail version. Ive also downloaded demo's that did this before. The game does look ok, but I think once it hits the shelves, it going to look alot better. Maybe like I said, their saving the major graphical settings ( working ones ) for the retail release. And actually, when I turn on 4x AA...I still have jaggies, doesnt look any different. Looks the same no matter what I change.

Played the demo and it's looking up to be the game of the year for 2006. I was impressed. Prey looks like a must-buy game as of right now, unless something changes from now til retail.

The graphics are better than doom3, but still containing a similar look. I was impressed with some of the effects of bumpmapping and just... portal effects and other cool effects idk how to describe. There also seems to be a deeply rooted story and excellent polish and dedication to atmosphere.

EDIT: The AI is pretty crappy. Not very difficult. It's similar to HL2, but are a bit more fun to kill.

It also loads very quickly compared to my expectations. Definitely better than doom 3 or quake 4 so far...

It loads a bit quicker, but each level is much smaller, therefore, you'll get the loading screen often.

Well. What a game so far. Best bit is the minature plannet. What a game.,.......
I think its 10 years well spent. Really really makes me think i want DNF when its finished and Even more S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Better that HL2 so far and looks amazing. i set the detail to high, 1280 x 1024 4xAF tripple buffered. no AA 1 gig ram, 3200xp and 9800Pro... Ran smooooooother than Doom the terrible crappy game. And for all you that need a flash light. Go and (insert witisism here) yourselves its not too dark, infact it feels about right. I found i only really needed the flashlight (lighter) twice. P.S. The talking is great. !
