It puts a finishing touch to the fan wires. A wire mesh is put on and heatshrink goes on the ends. Makes it look pretty darn cool IMHO.Originally posted by: firestorm225
I don't know much about fans, but I have a question. What are all those extra options for? Like sleve wiring, heatshrink, and sleeving?

Because, by the time I get off work, it will take me about an hour to pick it up due to traffic. And that hour could be better spent working, in which I would make much more than that $5 shipping.

Papaschtroumpf, you are thinking of the H1A model....I use them too, and love 'em!
That price for sleeving is great! I can think of many places where you'd pay more than that just for the supplies, never mind the time and effort to do the mod!

He could me talking about the M1A too they make L1A M1A and H1A...
My personal preference is the H1A wired to have a switch to select 7 or 12 volts that way on 7 volts its about the same noise level and about the same cfm as the L1A and on 12 volts its full blast baby

OK people, just to get it straight. "Sleeving" means that the cables are covered by an EMI resistant mesh (mesh being the most common form). This is not absolutely necessary and you will still get the connecting wires.
