Price difference between SSD's

I am considering either the OCZ Vertex or the G.Skill Titan for a purchase. They seem to be the same drive, with the exception being that the OCZ appears to have cache. Is there some other feature(s) the OCZ has to warrant the large price difference? Would I be doing myself a disservice by just blindly buying the Titan? Thanks for any insight.

The Titan uses 2 JMicron controllers to alleviate some of the stuttering issues. I still experience some stuttering with my Titan but others don't. It's still a great drive and the stuttering only occurs when installing software and multi-tasking for me.

The OCZ Vertex has 32MB or 64MB (depending on size of the drive) cache and doesn't use a JMicron controller. According to the OCZ people it should have similar performance (possibly better?) as the Intel x25-m which is considered the best MLC SSD by most. Price isn't so bad on it anymore either.

I was originally going to wait for the Vertex, but apparently I'm extremely impatient. It was supposed to be out at the end of December or early January but keeps getting delayed. When I get the upgrade urge, I just can't wait.

So, now I have a Titan and x25-M. I'm going to stick with the Intel and my Titan is up for sale.

pretty accurate of timbob... the vertex... needs more analyzing before it can be honestly compared to the intel.
But a lot of people here complained that despite what they were promised, the titan still stutters.

I have seen some people report that they don't have stuttering though. Are they mistaken?

The Titan can be made 99% stutter-free with the right tweaks, but it will still stutter occasionally under the right combination of workloads. I get short stutters (~5-10 seconds) a few times a week now that I have dialed everything in. I'm still quite happy with the drive, and that is coming from a 74GB Raptor.
