It hasn't shipped yet, but Amazon is not letting me cancel the order.
I think I could be screwed. Assuming it arrives on Jan 12 (and I happen to be home at the time to receive the package, which is also a big *if*), then that makes it 14 days since my order. I will have to setup the monitor, check everything out, and take the rebate personally to the post office the next day to get it postmarked.
If not, then there goes $75

I knew if I had to put my res at 1280x1024 it would be to small for my tired old eyes, so I called Princton Graphics tech support. They said to go into display before hooking up new LCD and set HZ to 60 and put res at 800x600 which is large enough for those of us who don't see well. Then shut down computer and hook up new LCD which I did to my dvi connection. I booted up and my picture was not distorted but clear, crisp, and beautiful. I then went back into display to insure HZ was at 60 and res at 800x600. So i had no distortion issue, loved my picture at 800x600, had no dead pixels, and would definitely buy this monitor again.

Back at Amazon for $210...BUT like others said, using the free shipping option is very risky condering the rebate requirements

6-bit LCDs can't display the color spectrum anywhere close to the 8-bit ones. If you enjoy looking at colors on your screen as close as to the way you see colors in nature, don't get this LCD..
It is mostly noticeable when looking at full color photos, but will show up in other areas. It is ok for gaming though, and in fact the 6bit LCDs apparently offer speed advantages i.e. less ghosting than typical 8 bitters.

Funny no one that received the monitor said anything about its colors, except for one person, but they didn't say colors were bad, only not as good as the Samsung's. Maybe for the most part they're first time LCD owners? I'm bummed about this. I really wanted an 17" with DVI for this price.

Does the 6-bit color thing mean that I can only set my computer to output 256 colors to the monitor? If that is so, then images will appear terrible. Or does the 6-bit color mean that I can set my computer to 16-bit or 32-bit, and the monitor will only display 6-bits?
