Mine arrived yesterday. Mine is LCB9E . I am now orthos stable at 2.8 Ghz at 1.35V (mbm reading, 1.4 V bios) with my tforce6100. Full load at 50C using a stock opteron 4 heatpipe heatsink with 90mm panaflo ultra fan mod. This chip runs hot or maybe my biostart tforce temp readings are off.

I'll see if I can reach 3 Ghz without reaching 1.5V and hopefully stay 50C and under.

Mine (reported earlier in the thread) can run Othos > 24 hrs at 2.9 Ghz, 1.4v. Stepping is LCBKE. However Othos immediately gives errors at 3.0 GHz, no matter how I put on a more powerful fan or raise the voltage. Ironically this is indeed a good thing in disguise since I've found the "hard" limit for the chip (the board can do higher FSB). the whole setup is now "packaged" and no more lingering thoughts to oc further. It runs just as stable with a quiet Vantec Stealth fan.

Even with the $10 drop after my purchase, I still think I got a gem.

Looks like you have the same setup as we do. Biostar Tforce6100-939, and the 3800+ X2 LCB9E. We are at 2.6GHz, stock voltage. It will go higher, but the room it sits in gets very warm, sometimes 80 F. What bios are you using? We are using the bios especially modded from Rebel's haven. Excellent board for a cheap price.

I am using the latest bios mod from RH, RH2. I have tested several CPUs with my tforce6100 with different results, opteron 146, san diego 4000(E4), san diego 4000(E6), and x2 3800(E6). I think my mobo's limit is 2.98GHz regardless of FSB. The opteron 146 can go as high as 320 FSB but my san diego can only go to 260 FSB. Never got any of these CPUs stable at 3.0 Ghz.

My mobo is a second-hand DFI Lanparty Expert, though I didn't use any fancy oc settings in the bios at all - just set 290FSB and go. My memory is 1Gb OCZ Gold chips which are supposed to clock well at higher voltages - they suck, I finally got a board capable of such voltages but they would not be willing to go anywhere above 3200 speed. i wish I had the same experience as yeba does with A64 chips but I consider the result is more than enough for a greedy overclocker. And the whole AMD rig only costs me 1/2 to 1/3 of what I just paid for a E6300 setup.

OK. I'll ask and Maybe some of the old members here that remember me will help out a little.
I've got an asrock dual sata board sitting in a puter that I haven't had a chance to finish putting together, ( yea I know but life has been busy lately ), that has an Athlon 144 sitting in it that I left clocked at 2 gig when last played with it.
From what I see this is the best and last upgrade for this board, correct ?
What kind of performance hit can I expext ??

Currently my X2-3800 is at 2.8Ghz @ 1.40 volts with the AMD X64 3500+ Heatsink/Fan combo. I imagine I could push this more if I had a better heatsink, but I am not interested in it really. My NB did eventually burn out (or start to) it would no longer boot past 200Mhz FSB. Anyway, I replaced the NB fan with a decent one from coolermaster and so far the MB temps are great.

This upgrade will probably end up holding off my computer rebuild for another year at least. I was ready to upgrade this summer, had the money, etc... But you know, there is nothing this CPU cannot handle at this point.

For the guy above me, yes this is the last upgrade for the 939 for the most part... AMD no longer manufacturs these any longer, which means price will raise sharply soon. Pick one of these up while you can...

Mine came in a few days ago. Easily hits 2.5 Ghz - haven't even bothered trying for more. I'm using an Arctic Freezer 64. This is a very nice cpu for S939 people out there who want to go dual core for cheap.

Anyone is using this CPU with Epox 9nDA3J mb? I have problem overclocking this mb with this CPU. It can't go higher than 240MHz FSB because the BIOS would not recognize my SATA drive. The AGP/PCI clock is locked at 66MHz. My older X64 was overclocked over 255MHz before with the same BIOS and it is the latest BIOS from Epox (file name: da3j6502.zip). Anyway around this issue besides buying a new PCI SATA board?
