There's been another price drop and this TV is now available at Frys.com for $1027 + shipping. Tax is also applicable in some states. Text

This is the old deal:

There is a printable coupon for 10% off that is good for in store purchases. My store accepted it but YMMV.

The price at Circuit City of this plasma is $1199 through Saturday 11/25.

If you get the 10% off coupon to work that brings the price down to $1080, but it's likely you'll have to wait to get this TV since most CC stores are currently sold out.

This TV is very highly rated. Here is one review from June of this year when this TV was selling for $2500. Gotta love the price drops on plasmas for the Christmas season.

damn... I bought this TV from CC 2.5 months ago on a great sale from CC and paid $450 more! If you're in the market for a plasma, you're nuts not to buy at this price.

CC is also offering $300 off if you sign up for DirecTV.

Deal

And BB also has a similar deal going. Lots of big deals on this TV going right now. Pisses me off that I paid $2700 for it about a year ago.

Where did you get the 10% off coupon "floating around"? Did you receive it in the mail? Catalog?

What's the BB deal? I see it listed at $1599 at the website.
I'm thinking have BB PM CC @ 110% off
$1599.99
-330.00
= 1269.99

12% RZ BB coupon (received in the mail)
$1269.99
- $152.39
= $1117.60 + local sales tax

BB has a $400 off with HD DTV sign up and another $200 off if you have them install. Check FW for all details. I'm reading that not all BBs are giving you the PM plus discounts. But now that CC has lowered their price and has the DTV deal I don't see how they'll be able to refuse it.

The $200 installation deal is from Panasonic and applies as long as you purchase from an authorized dealer.

The Dircect TV deal is good for existing customers too and you should be able to get it no matter where you buy. I think it's $250 for upgrading to HD, which works out to about 2-years of HD programming.

Just bought this 42" Beast @ CC. They did not honor the 10% off, since it was the black friday sale price. However, for $1401 this was a great price. On top of this financing until Jan 2009. Wow! What a steal!

Do people think this is as good as it gets as far as the image quality (it is a plasma) before you start hitting $3200 sony bravia xb3's and other super high end stuff?

Also is this plasma considered to be in the current gen which burn in is a reduced issue?

thx

my BB wasnt complaint to do shtt. i said f it and boughtit anyways, 1300 isnt bad for a GREAT plasma.

got RCA antenna and couldnt pick up HD signals for jack. i used it with SD cable...thats split in-house atleast once... and , to my huge surprised , it looks AWESOME. it looks as good as demo sets in the store.. obviously some of the very best, proper HD setups were clearer, but im more than happy with the picture im getting now

Okay. Overall my innitial impressions are good, but not excellent. I was looking for tad bit more sharpness. However, I may not have the HDMI fully connected to my Comcast box. I kept playing with the HDMI cable and it makes no difference. There may be something wrong on my end. Overall, color rendition is good. However, just seems a tad fuzzy on ESPN HD. My settings are similar to the PlasmaTVBuyingGuide.com review.

Picture Mode Standard
Picture +22
Brightness +8
Color -1
Tint -4
Sharpness -14
Color Temperature Warm
Enhanced Black Level Off

Overall a 4 out 5 in terms of picture quality. Text and graphics look great. Black levels are great. However, just seems a little fuzzy on HD material. However, at $1299+tax this is a great starter plasma buy for myself. When all said and done, this will go into my bedroom.

Ok, I just got the BB deal tonight at the BB in Tustin, CA. Here's how it went:

$1599 BB price
- $300 CC Price Match
- $600 DTV Promo
= $699 for the TV

$100 Installation
$99 H20 DTV Receiver
$10 Recycling
$80 Premium Delivery (Optional, but hoping it will help with the $200 Panasonic rebate)
$20 TV Disposal (They snuck this on, going to have it refunded ASAP)

Total out-the-door - $1077.11

Not a bad deal. Also, here is what the lady told me about the DTV sign up. She pretty much said it's optional. I told her I already have an account and that I wanted to sign up my inlaws for the new account. She told me that it really doeasn't matter, that all I should do is call up DTV and tell them I want to either upgrade my current setup or start a new one.....but that IT'S OPTIONAL, either way I'll get the discount. And after I ebay the Receiver this deal will be even better!

I have the woman's name in Tustin who helped me out, if you want her name just PM me. She didn't give me any problems, as a matter of fact 2 other people were asking about the same deal when I was there and everyone in the Magnolia center didn't have a problem with it at all. Woo hoo for Tustin Best Buy!

*EDIT
I forgot to mention that I'll also be getting $20 in Reward Zone Certificates also since I have a Reward Zone account.

This is a great deal....actually price wise it's almost the exact same deal I got. After tax it would come out to $0.03 less than what I paid, but I wouldn't have got delivery/installation and the DTV Receiver. If someone is set on getting this great TV I would still try to get the DTV deal before Friday, if not this is a great deal otherwise.

What is the $600 savings catch?

It's only good during the 7-hour sale Friday morning. Click the link

That's what I thought. Looks like I will be getting up early on Friday
