Just got back from Wally World in Orlando and I saw a sign they had up that said they would match ANY advertised price. I talked to the manager and asked him if this applied to internet prices and he said as long as you bring in the ad and it's not fake (he made that clear), they will match it. And from what I understand the cashier does it at the register so YMMV. He also said that all wal-marts should be doing it.

Ours is terrible, they say they only will pricematch Kmart & Target, that is all, same for Kmart. So much for "ANY" advertised price....

Our store only matches local prices advertised in the paper. There's a lot of fine print involved. For example if another store has a good price on something you can't just come in and match it, we won't even call. In fact we won't even match the price if you have a reciept. It has to be off an ad that was in the paper or something, but we will do any store.

What he said. Internet price matching is definately a no go. Must be a local, say within <25 miles and it must be advertised in a paper ad like in the newspaper. If it advertised on their place of business sign, still no price match.

Our local store is pretty good. I've price-matched meat on sale at a grocery store (that's about 10 miles further from home than WalMart), and yesterday price-matched an iron that was in a Sears ad. All I had to do was show them the ad at the checkout, no hassles at all. Haven't tried an internet ad, though.

Palm Bay, FL Wal-Mart --- will only price match grocery stores in the area and K-mart right down the street.

NO WAY to Target and Best Buy that are about 7 miles down the road.

and that is why I hate Wal-Mart,

Wal-Mart has gotten stricter on stuff like this, and returns. Still can't beat them for around town though.

You know, little cheap stuff that you need around the apertment. like a dust pan, or that thing that holds all of your stuff in the shower. Or even a really nice pair of pants ; )

Walmart returns are a lot more strict. According to the local WallyWorld you can only return something without a receipt once in a calendar year. They use your drivers license to record this.
There used to be a time when they would take back stuff with Kmart price tags on them.

We have to be stricter as people were abusing our return policy too much. We have really cut down on electronics returns and will no longer do formula, diapers, etc even if they aren't opened. No one can take back a toilet seat for that matter. You wouldn't believe how much money we lose on returns, need to start using the 15% restocking fee like Target uses.

yes, I've just abused wal-mart return policy once recently, bought that Apex 1100W dvd player, opened, used, and refunded. They still don't have restriction on electronics?

Our Wally World takes anything back, I've seen people return things which i know for a fact was not even purchased there. Open, broke, old, mis-used, no reciept they dont care. But from what i heard they opened a Wal-Mart here knowing they would be losing money, My friend who is an assitant Manger says they have not made any money yet. I guess they just use this store as a write off.

And you wonder why they changed their policy?

Wal-Mart loses a ton of money on returns. Its cut back a little thouch by the fact that if you take something back w/out a receipt you can only get in-store credit. Also we don't take opened videos, games, etc. Will only exchange if defective.

The only time that I know the return policy is eased up is for the holidays. A lot of people don't have receipts and stuff and so can get cash back on returns. My mom (she worked their part time) said that once like 5 mexican dudes literally came up with a $200 vacuum cleaner in a cart and walked out with the money no hassles. Since we can't prove anything though (going through whatever security tapes etc. is a tedious process, we may not have even recorded that aisle or whatever and no to mention this is right after Christmas-- you can't hold up the line for 20 min on a hunch, the point of the modified return policy is to move things along quicker) we have to let them go.

My fave Wal-Mart return... I watched an older couple (~60) return a gallon of some kind of paint that looked used and the can was even puffed out like it was ready to explode. Full refund no questions asked...

I also watched a guy return 1/2 a pack of meat for the 110% match... said he didn't like it.

My local Wal-mart won't even price match their own stores, and give you much trouble and waist a lot of time when you try to price match to a local ad. I don't even bother trying to pricematch with them anymore because they give you so much hassle.

I was standing around one time when I actually heard a manager explain to a customer why the different stores around the area have different prices (we have 4 stores in Colorado Springs currently). The customer had asked why the mascara or something was more expensive up at this store and cheaper at one down south. The manager said, and I quote, "This store is in a more expensive part of town so we charge more." Umm, it probably doesn't make sense to you and it certainly doesn't to me but whatever...

Anyways the pricematching is easy to do if you tell the cashier and haven't tried to match to a different product, etc. About half of the people that I pricematch for do it wrong but I still let it go. It pisses em off when I tell them I can't do it and I don't want to bother bringing a manager over and then pissing off everyone else behind them because the line's being held up. Besides, the cash office usually has their hands full chasing down the real idiots who messed up bigtime so they don't care if I lost 50 cents for the store.

ddjkdg, are you a CSM?

I will pricematch fairly easy if the customer is nice to me. I hate it when customers get all worried we are not going to pricewatch and start flippen out over nothin. That's when I will not do the pricematch. As far as taking back mixed paint, we do it all. Some people buy a couple gallons of the same color, use a little of each, and return the rest. Paint is my former department as I have now moved out to the garden center which is a lot funner putting grills together.

Our local WM price matchs all the time, no problem at all. For the return, once I saw a couple returned a heavily used (looked like years old), no manual, no box, no receipt toaster.

That's the trouble Wal-Mart has. Each so called associate and manager has there own rules on what can be price matched and how. If any of you techer's are associated with Wal-Mart you should consider having the pricematch policy broadcast on National TV that way these Jack-as*s managers with their heads up there a** will follow the company policy.

Staples lost me as a customer when one of the manager wouldn't price match an item. I hate to see Wal-Mart fall...I still like shopping there althought Target provides a peaceful shopping experience.

i recently tried to pricematch a ps2 from an internet site. the cashier was really cool about trying to change the price, but at the end he needed a manager override key, but when the manager came he said that walmart will not pricematch internet sites and will only PM stores like target, kmart, etc.... the manager said that the reason why walmart doesnt pricematch internet sites is because internet sites do not provide the same "services" as walmart does. when i asked him to explain this, he said that at walmart you are allowed to "view and physically touch" an item before you buy it. i laughed at this and told the manager that i was in no mood for touching a ps2, and this made the manger even more upset. so then i told him off and left.

in conclusion...... WALMART SUCKS and so much for their "LOW PRICE GUARANTEE"
