Nope...no sympathy here.
He was attending an EVENT representing the University.
Believe it or not...that IS his job, maybe in his case even moreso than some other coaches.
Mike Price was hired for one major task...to be the Mr. Clean that shepherded the Crimson Tide through probation.
If he had coached here and simply left a foundation on which to build, I would have then termed his tenure an unqualified success, all things considered.
He's not going to do that now, of course, because he took for granted the position he was in.
Unfortunately, problems with his public behavior have been going on for awhile.
This is not an isolated incident of questionable judgement by him.
People can piss and moan about how he should have had a second chance (just heard his whining ass on ESPN and it only made me LIVID to hear him place blame on everyone except himself for what happened...asshat) but to that I say "WTF did he THINK would happen if he got caught? He'd get a frickin raise?"
As a public figure...the head coach is ALWAYS on the job, IMHO.
And if he (or anybody else) in that position can't handle living in the "fishbowl," then that person obviously isn't suited for the job.
So now he waves bye-bye to the millions in salary, and the additional endorsements...and gets to try to put his life back together.
Which is only fitting...since HE is to blame for farking it up...nobody else!
