This is my first post for deals. I was looking for RAM for my system and I found that BestBuy had this for $220 (2gb shipped + CA tax) vs $162 (w/o shipping and 1GB only) at newegg. I'm by no means a newbie to hardware but I compared the two and I saw no difference with the exception of the sticker on the BB one showing Extreme DDR2 Performance.

I compared this one with the TWIN2X2048-6400 (not pro) and this came up cheaper but I can't see what the differences are between the two ram modules.

web site now shows "backordered", and all the stores near me in NoVA are out of stock. Obviously, other people thought it was a nice price, too.

You may be able to order it in-store through Customer Fulfillment. If you can, try using this coupon to get 10%\12% off. You never know!

This is the same as the TWIN2X2048-6400PRO , right?
That's an impressive price. 100.00 to 175.00 cheaper than other web prices.

You guys know more than I about ram. The pic in the Best Buy link does show it to be the XMS Pro series. Maybe I'm confused about the different pro series. It also has the LED lights like the Pro series. Thanks

Although BestBuy is almost never the place for deals, if you check the corsair website this model number

CM2X1024-6

Is the model for a single DIMM, I believe based on the price $199 and neweggs $167 or whatnot the description is a foul up on BestBuy's part. The 30 dollar difference sounds normal for Newegg/Best Buy prices. So I'd suggest taking a screenshot or saving the webpage etc if you do order so you can make them at fault when you receive only a single dimm.

I have a little money to throw around I might just go for it... I was currently looking at a twin pack @ $290 if I can save $90 why not?

That's what I was thinking. They made a mistake. Probably is a 1GB stick or 2 X 512
Price is half what it should be, if it is a Pro series 6400

The Best Buy pic matches the pic on the Corsair web page for the XMS2 Pro series. I wonder what Best Buy will do if we get 1 stick. Would they really send another stick out? I bet they would just ask us to return it for a refund.

Link now shows $200 + $4 S/H.

I recently got 2GB Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 according to the tag, for $260 after MIR, still unopened - not sure how it compares to this, and should I try to return it

I just called my local Best Buy store. I asked about the SKU number 8020054, which is listed when you order it online. He said it is a 1GB XMS2 PRO series. So, they made a mistake. Now, I wonder if I should keep my order, or cancel it. Hmmmmm.

I bet they don't. That would be a pretty big price adjustment. I'm guessing their markup is not 100% on this item, so they would be losing big time on each order.

I called Best Buy and the CSR was of no help. I asked them if the item is listed incorrectly will I get my order and all the CSR did was read off the description of my online order .

Last time I tried to get in on a price mistake at Best Buy online, they cancelled the order and sent an email with a $5 off coupon. Not bad. Might get a coupon out of this. I really don't think Best Buy will sell this for that price. Good Luck to those of you who try it tho....

Ordered a set for $211

Even if its just a 1 gig & if it shows up,
WorstBuy's return policy is great.

BB won't honor anything. For those that have been around here a long time, we know all about BB and how they operate. As the old saying goes:"BestBuy is suck".

I picked up a set today also. I am thinking that they did label the memory correctly, but the mislabeled the price. Here is a PDF from Corsair:

http://www.corsair.com/corsair/products/specs/CM2X1024-6400PRO.pdf

The description from the PDF file said it is one 1 GB stick of DDR2 800MHz memorry. Best Buy listed it as a 2-pack. So I'm thinking I'll be getting two 1GB sticks of DDR2 800MHz memory from best buy. They say this stick is also matched in parts of "Twin2x" modules tested as a set in a dual channel DDR2 motherboard.

I'm kinda a noob when it comes to this stuff. Can I get 2 seperate sticks and still use it as dual channel? It's the same memory in a TwinX2 package. What makes memory dual channel? I thought it just meant it required 2 sticks to run...

Do I make sense?

It also says in the description 2GB (pair of 1GB DIMM)
I'll be surprised if this works out for any of us.

The description for the item is correct and everything so I don't see why they wouldn't honor it. Isn't that false advertising? Basically we can't trust any of the prices on their site until we see the bill? That would seem like deceptive means of getting more traffic to their site using other search engines. If you look them up in froogle they show up.
