Pricing error at B&M Fry's : Matix Component Video Cables $0.50 Each!!!

I needed a couple of Component Video Cables for my HT and grabbed a pair of these:

Fry's / Outpost Product Page
(Near Monster quality without the price?)

I was more than a little surprised when they came up @ $0.50 each at the checkout.:Q

The cashier commented that they must be on clearout. "Uhm, yeah.... must be.", says I.
Needless to say I went right back in and cleared them out.

I'm not sure if Fry's has a central pricing server, but if they do, these should be the same price at all locations.

Edit: FYI - the location I cleaned out is in Houston (SW Fwy.)

Thanx for the heads up on this deal OP!! I live near the SW frwy Fry's in Houston but if you got 'em all..no joy here. Hate to drive to the I45 location for a shot at these cables..anyone know if that location has any left?

Monster is junk, Monster is a marketing company, not an electronics company. The use the money they get from you to sue anybody and everybodywho uses the term "monster" anywhere in their business. The Monster boycott is still active, AFAIK.

Actually, some of us do read the rules - hence the question to the Mods. I wanted to share the info without breaking the rules.

The post is clearly labeled for what I think it is; a pricing mistake. However, it was a 'mistake' that was honored by the company (Fry's cashier).
Should I have sent a letter to Fry's Head Office seeking confirmation of the price? or was the fact that they sold it at that price confirmation enough?

This is not the first post based on a merchant pricing error and, as of now, the Mods have let it stand. Nuff said.

Thanks for the info and link. This is the first I've heard or read anything about this. Interesting stuff.

They certainly are effective marketers - their brand recognition is right up there with their prices. As for not being an electronics company... well, that just seems to be the way of the world these days. Nike hasn't manufactured a shoe in years - its all contracting and marketing.

I'm no fanboy for Monster. The only Monster product I've ever bought is speaker cable. No complaints. They were an improvement over the low end cables that were originally in place but I'm not sure they were worth the cost. My $0.02

Guaranteed bandwidth on each cable, and 75 ohm impedance. Audio cables require less bandwidth (only up to 20 khz)

At least that's what you're SUPPOSED to get with high quality cables. If they're not even as good quality as Monster, who knows - they may be the same wire with differently colored plugs.

I checked the one in Fremont, CA and it was 29.95, so no deal for me.

I would stay far away from these. They are way too short to do anything with them, and that little squigley gap in the middle will shirley cause picture problems.

It's great that people point out deals, and I'm sure everyone appreciates your good intentions. I didn't mean to sound thread-crappish. But, you asked a question to the mods... I'm *not* a mod, but I do realize that the mods volunteer their time and don't have the time to read every single thread. The answer to your question was very simple to find, so I posted it for you.
