This is a bus powered hub, so be aware it will not work with every USB device. A gamepad should work fine, but items like printers and CD-RW need the powered hub to maintain the signal between devices. Iomega just came out with a bus powered USB Zip 250 to replace the powered version of the drive. Good deal for a laptop since it's so portable.
