I do not recommend this scanner. It is okay for just scanning in slides and sending them to people. But not for archiving. Resolution is poor for slides and negatives, and dark slides always look very grainy. I thought I just had a defective one, so I replaced it, but it still had the same problems. Don't waste your money on this scanner. Save up and buy a real one, if you want to archive your slides and negatives for future generations.

I sold mine and bought a real slide scanner, the Minolta DiMage Scan Elite 5400
