I just checked my computers:
20 WUs done within the next 22 hours.
17 WUs will be done between 24 and 48 hours from now.
20 WUs (at least) will be done between 60 and 95 hours from now on.
These are minimum numbers ... I have set my systems to "No more new tasks" because I have plenty ... and in the i7 I'll switch the Hyperthtreading off in the last 32 hours to get more speed.
57 WUs = approx 1,9 million points ...

4 tomorow morning.

I'll have 24 hours with nothing after that.

Best guess is 28 more after that by the end.

I have learned alot during this race. Made some mistakes.
Fixed the problems and have a more reliable maching because of it.

This race is more about how many cores you can bring on, and not so much speed related.

The next race, nov 14. that will be a speed race.

We should try and be better organised for that one, and see if we can have a better turn out of the team members.

The guys that joined after the start have made a big differance, and the help is very much appreciated.

The only reason we are still holding 10th place is because of your help.

You know, it might not be too late for some people to juggle WUs to get a few extra in.

To get 50% more work done on a dual-core (or multiply by the even number of cores you have over 2):

1. 50%, 50%, 0% - Take 2 to 50%.
2. 50%, 100%, 50% - Take one of those to 100% as you take one new WU to 50%.
3. 100%, 100%, 100% - Finish up the two WUs at 50%.

To get N+1 WUs done on N cores, you can leave one of each of N+1 WUs idle in turn as you do 1/Nth of the work on the rest. An example with 4 cores:

1. 0%, 25%, 25%, 25%, 25% (1st WU idle.)
2. 25%, 25%, 50%, 50%, 50% (2nd WU idle.)
3. 50%, 50%, 50%, 75%, 75% (3rd WU idle.)
4. 75%, 75%, 75%, 75%, 100% (4th WU idle.)
5. 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 100% (5th WU idle, because it's done.)

To get 7 done on a quad-core (which I did):

1. 50%, 50%, 50%, 50%, 0%, 0%, 0% - Take 4 to 50%.
2. 50%, 50%, 50%, 100%, 50%, 50%, 50% - Take 3 more to 50% as you finish one of the original WUs.
3. 75%, 75%, 75%, 100%, 75%, 50%, 50% - Take 4 of the remaining WUs to 75%.
4. 75%, 75%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 75%, 75% - Finish up 2 of the WUs at 75% as you take the 2 WUs at 50% to 75%.
5. 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 100% - Finish up the 4 WUs now at 75%.

If all this boggles your mind, don't worry about it. But I wanted to post it as a guide, in case it un-boggles some peoples' minds. :whiste:

Checked again ... if I manage to shuffle the WUs right I'll may get 60 or 61 WUs in before deadline ... especially if I turn off hyperthreading on the 4-cores as they finish their WUs (and do not take new ones ...). 60 WUs = 2 million more points - a total of 4.5 million points. I really hope I'll reach that goal.

Now that we're close to the end, two notices. First, for novices, please push the Update button in BOINC before the end of the race, with PrimeGrid selected on the Projects tab. This makes sure all your work gets counted.

Second, please remember to either complete OR abort the work you have downloaded, but won't finish in time for the end of the race. This allows result verification to go faster, so we can get final results sooner. (But please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery of final results!)
