I worry sometimes that we're producing too many greenhouse gases. It looks like the Antarctic Crunchers have melted behind us.
Nahh..... We are just producing more than 2nd,3rd and 4th put together.

We have almost killed the PG server in this challenge.

They're going to let it run it course, but once the server reaches a point that it can't accept anymore uploads the challenge will end. Which they think might happen early, but they're hopeful it'll make it to the end.

I am shutting down most of my rigs in hopes we don't kill the server. There is no chance anyone will catch us as a team, even if everyone on the team stopped crunching 100%.

With that said, I've set NNT on a lot of my rigs and shutting them down when they complete what they have.

I saw this news item 2h ago when I returned home from work. I set 'nomorework' too, suspended all 'main tasks' briefly until all 'proof tasks' were completed (not sure if this step was in any way helpful), then resumed the main tasks but aborted+reported all tasks which weren't started yet. The rest of my work buffers should complete in half an hour, except on a Haswell quadcore.

Server is now receiving uploads to a different location. Should™️ no longer die until end of challenge.

You may now resume your regularly scheduled DDOS attack on the server.

Last user stats update was at 17:18:37 UTC, last team stats at 17:32:06 UTC. I wonder if the challenge did indeed end early already. Would be a pity for all¹ the users and teams who still had close races going.

¹) or maybe for half of them :-D

Almost everything I have is done now. No one is going to catch me or the team at this point.

Unless that pesky little bowl keeps crunching, but the stats appear as if hes stopped also.

There was an update since I last looked, but I am done with all but 2 tasks. I guess I have to be happy with #8 place on the team.

I wasn't sure how stats were going to go with the server issues. But I don't think they're going to change much at this point.

@Skillz found the magic to defeat Souperman. But at least I found and restored his bowl.

Currently listed primes in this challenge, for TeAm AnandTech members:
2022-07-24 11:32:56 UTC — 439*2^3318318+1 (998,916 digits, entrance rank 1488) — @Icecold
2022-07-23 15:39:30 UTC — 849*2^3296427+1 (992,327 digits, entrance rank 1522) — @Markfw
2022-07-23 15:21:25 UTC — 719*2^3308127+1 (995,849 digits, entrance rank 1500) – parsnip
2022-07-23 04:46:43 UTC — 341*2^3300789+1 (993,640 digits, entrance rank 1511) – parsnip

And during the warmup towards the challenge:
2022-07-21 09:16:36 UTC — 531*2^3284944+1 (988,870 digits, entrance rank 1529) — @waffleironhead

Congrats!
Let's see if we can dig up another prime or two.
Not sure how long it will take to clear the backlog of the challenge (Jul 29: 339,274 tasks outstanding, Jul 30: 7,145 tasks outstanding), but I checked back on the same PG page now for more finds:

2022-07-26 07:55:50 UTC — 87*2^3686558+1 (1,109,767 digits, entrance rank 443) — @Icecold
2022-07-26 04:56:17 UTC — 341*2^3686613+1 (1,109,784 digits, entrance rank 443) — @Icecold
2022-07-25 07:16:50 UTC — 735*2^3670991+1 (1,105,082 digits, entrance rank 456) — @Skillz
2022-07-25 03:14:21 UTC — 273*2^3665736+1 (1,103,499 digits, entrance rank 449) — parsnip
2022-07-25 02:35:54 UTC — 609*2^3662931+1 (1,102,655 digits, entrance rank 460) — @Icecold

PS,
interesting how the moderate increase in digits of the found primes from <1,000 to >1,100 caused a large jump in T5K ranking from ≈1,500 to ≈450. I guess that folks have been looking for ≥1,000 digits long primes a lot already (e.g. via PrimeGrid's PPS-MEGA project) and filled a certain part of the T5K list with these pretty good.

Found PPS primes per team, only counting tasks which were assigned after the start of the challenge on Jul 22 22:00 UTC and reported before the planned end of the challenge on Jul 25 22:00 UTC:¹

7 finds – TeAm AnandTech
3 finds each – Antarctic Crunchers, SETI.Germany
2 finds each – Aggie The Pew, SETI.USA
1 find each – AMD Users, [H]ard|OCP, L'Alliance Francophone, Team Norway

Per user:

3 finds – parsnip (TeAm AnandTech)
2 finds each – boss (SETI.Germany), Icecold (TeAm AnandTech), Scott Brown (Aggie The Pew), zombie67 [MM] (SETI.USA)
1 find each — Freezing (SETI.Germany), Hans Sveen (Team Norway), [AF>Libristes]Maeda (L'Alliance Francophone), markfw (TeAm AnandTech), [TA]Skillz (TeAm AnandTech), Soulfly (Antarctic Crunchers), Tern (Antarctic Crunchers), tng (Antarctic Crunchers), vaughan² (AMD Users), wareyore ([H]ard|OCP)

________
¹) So far, there are no primes listed which came from tasks which were assigned during the challenge but reported after the challenge. I.e., the fact that PrimeGrid temporarily disabled result uploads does not change these statistics, at least based on the current cleanup progress.

²) vaughan's PPS prime is also a Generalized Fermat Prime.

Looking forward to it, but GPU challenges are, well, challenging for me. I'll be all in, though!

It could be the fastest card on the project if you overclock it enough!

I don't know of any special configurations for WW, aside from selecting the project, of course. It uses very little CPU, but using the rest of the CPU for the same project doesn't add much output.

But what are the setting for the prime run ????? What do I do to my profile ?

Its still got 6 days and 18 hours to go before it starts but this is the project you choose.

It might be able to run on CPUs, but GPUs are much, much faster that it's not even worth running on CPUs.
