Separate clients also help with different amount of Queues. Plus WUProp counts 8 CPUs and a 1 GPU as 9 so each hour a task would only get 8/9ths of an hour towards WUProp. Even Radioactive counted as overloading more tasks than threads.

I have Process Lasso on Windows but I mainly use it to give any GPU exe it's own thread.

Can you explain that more? Because that doesn't seem like that's how wuprop records duration of running tasks.

Say you use ncpus in cc_config to run 10 CPU tasks at once on 8 threaded system. For each task you'll get 8/10ths of an hour per task to still get 8 app hours per hour. A GPU task counts as another running task on top of the CPUs. Radioactive was either inhibiting a CPU task running or counting as other CPU task so I moved it to my GPU client awhile back.

I was pretty sure it had factor in the task info but forgot its all in French so it was facteur.

Maybe it no longer does that as I don't see that message in other users tasks.

In preparation of the heat, (its already 61f outside and hotter the upcoming week) I have every window and door open.
I didn't want to, but have windows open since last night too. Regarding heat at home, it's bad that GFN-18 works well on CPUs *and* GPUs, and it's also bad that I am guest-computing for a team which unlike TAAT is surrounded by competing teams, so I couldn't help but switch on more than I originally intended.

Also, I still neglected to put mosquito screens together. Of course there aren't any mosquitos active at this time of year in Germany, but it's the time of year at which bumblebees are looking for new homes. I hope they all find their way out of my apartment like they do find their way in now.

Got a respite with some cool rainy weather so now all the GPUs are pointed at PG for the duration of the race.

Well, except for the 9070XT which doesn't want to run on PG.

At the current rate, AMD Users and Czech National Team are going to end up very close to SETI.Germany. The battle for 3rd place could escalate to a battle for 2nd...

Even though I have had a pretty secure 10th place for days, MIHost passed me last night. I am now 11th.

Looks like I'm gonna finish 5th. Can't believe I am that high in the ranks with what I have.
after a couple of days, I stuck with just the 4090s and 4080s video cards. 9 cards got me to 11th. The 64 core CPUs, even with lasso correctly configured did not seem to make much difference, and the heat was more than I could deal with. I have had the AC on, set to 78-80 degrees for days now. and thats with just 9 cards running.

That's because you didn't have your CPUs set up correctly. My dual genoa was doing over 2.5M PPD. Roughly 1/3 of your total output. The inside temperature of my apartment right now is 88F. It's hot.

edit
Even my Rome 64c CPUs were doing over 550k PPD. Pretty sure that's about as much as a 4080 or 4090.

The majority of my points (maybe something like 75%) were from CPU's. A properly configured 64 core Genoa should do over 500 tasks per day (nearly a million points). A 4090 running at full power not power limited in comparison does around 350 tasks per day.

I picked up the pace a little after @TennesseeTony passed me (and @emoga and several others) and johnnevermind threatened to.

Whaaat? Did I do that? I was merely collecting data to see how the new to me mobile 7950X (almost equivalent) systems compared at different power levels. All those 4090's and other systems running GFN18 the last 17 hours must have been a mistake in my preferences...cough cough.

In all honesty though, I have met all my PG goals for now, and plan to participate as little as possible this year. I want to get back to medical projects. And I want to run 24/7 year round. And I have a budget of $100 month for energy.

This leaves me with 6 of the minisforums, running 83watts CPU, 120w at the wall, a soon to be upgraded to 64 core Epyc Rome (equivalent to 2 desktop 7950X), and a 7950X desktop. GPU use will be seldom.

And Ken, I don't think we thank you enough, for the work you do for the TeAm, and for the BOINC community at large. THANK YOU.

And @Kiska , the same goes to you! THANK YOU.
