I turned on my 10 year old pentium 4 3.2ghz for this race. Actually it's still the main computer that I use

The #4 individual in the race has a healthy 85 active workstations for this challenge...different flavors.

The difference between the #1 and #2 is quite significant...one wonders what #1 is crunching with.

Yeah, people with labs or server farms at their disposal. Or something.

I can't get to my Pentium D box - MS killed off the remote desktop part of Windows Mesh and that was my hook up

Almost 5 hours later, and still no work has shown up for my X6 Thuban box.

Try unchecking the checkboxes to use NVIDIA/ATI GPUs. I've heard good results from people who only have the CPU box checked, and that's how I've been running this race the whole time.

This is frustrating!
Try putting a check in "Generalized Fermat Prime Search", but leaving "Use GPU" unchecked.
I also "Update" to get fetch working.

Still no work for my X6 machine. Nearly a day so far.

There are no other projects attached on this machine, it's a fresh install of BOINC 64-bit off of the web site (7.0.28, I think), and PrimeGrid attached. I've tried hitting Update multiple times, both last time I checked that box, and right now.

Frustrating.

Edit: I re-started BOINC, and then it gave me a notice from PrimeGrid, "No work available for the project that you have selected."

Edit: Checked the machine again 4 hours later, and it had completed 8 WUs. But no more current WUs to work on. There must be a WU shortage for this race.
