Not bad! But also realize that, for instance, the two SoB WUs I'm working on may count for more points than the entire TeAm has done so far. In other words, expect changes, particularly toward the end of the race.

Looks like my FX 8350 rig rebooted overnight. These tasks are making it run toasty compared to pogs/universe@home. I'm going over 61c at times on my core temps & hitting 70c socket temp. Never seen my rig run this hot. It's running at stock also. I might do an emergency clean tonight and blow everything out. Reapply some Artic Silver & see how it runs. I wouldn't think it would run this hot at stock. It makes me very dissatisfied! Wouldn't be surprised if it rebooted again today while I was gone. The parts are used and I do have to set the voltage on the CPU & RAM manually. It's never been stable left to auto. It might be time to give it more juice and downclock my RAM.

Think I'm backing the FX 8350 out. Got home & it was running still. Moved mouse and BSoD. Sorry guys didn't foresee this issue. I'm keeping the I5 4200M in the race it's been stable.

Strange, I can't seem to pull more than 4 wu's at one time. I've set the cache to 7days, 10 days and still don't get any more than the four I already have.
My system was idle overnight, not sure for how long though.

I just discovered another aspect of juggling for this race! It's probably too late for me to use it, but maybe someone else can...

Suppose you have two very-long-running WUs, on 2 cores, that are close to their end. Like, say, two PSPs. Suppose that they will complete fine, but there won't be time for a short WU, like an ESP, after them.

Then, wait until the sum of the remaining runtime for those two WUs is within the time left in the race. At that point, if you start a shorter WU - and if there's time for it to complete - it can run in parallel with the other larger WUs finishing the race.

I noticed this because I downloaded two ESPs on an old BOINC version, and they decided to run "high priority". I suspended them, then resumed one, but it insisted on overriding one of the larger WUs. It took me awhile to realize that's exactly the behavior I do want! I'm just afraid the ESP won't complete in time anyway.

With big thanks to Ken's juggling strategy, I was able to finish another 6 ESP WUs, but I had to abort four WU, as they would not finish on time.

Here's hoping I can still hang on in the top 250 participants.

While I am happy to be #1 briefly, I hope that it doesn't last long! I had just about finished dumping all the PSPs I was going to finish in time, which gave me a temporary boost. But hopefully now, all you heavy duty DC-ers are going to start dumping all your SOBs/PSPs en masse, and the team will get a big boost overall.
