Also realize that this is the toughest race of the year, in terms of length of race and of work units. You may find yourself doing better later.

Thanks for the heads up guys. Personally I had set a target for at least 4 successful tasks in the race, but in the end I could only manage 3 tasks. If we don't have any parallel race, I'm sure most of us will have much better result.

@Ken g6, thanks for the stats.

Out of a 2 months Folding race, a 1 month WCG race where I do daily stats, and a 2 weeks prime finding race, I am still undecided which one feels drawn out most.

Went from ruby to turquoise to jade SoB badge, would need to do llrSOB for just 1.5 more days at full speed in order to get to sapphire. Hmm.

Yeah, tour de primes is interesting and different. The goal is to find a prime, in the time allowed, and to get it proven and submitted before your wingman does. Multithreading makes it more likely that you will beat your wingmen, but decreases your overall testing rate, making you less likely to find a prime. I'm multithreading on my dual cores but not on my quad core.

I always take this WAY too literally. I'll try a few of all to try to win prime lotto.

What about on a 14 core ? or 16 core ?

Forgive me if I'm misinterpreting, but I think the logic that @Ken g6 is using, is more cores = less reason to multithread because then you're not crunching faster than the aggregate of machines out there and getting more tasks done, allowing a higher percentage of the tasks you complete (or verify) to be verified before the event ends.

It just happens that my quad core's cores are faster than any of my other cores. Seems like about 700s per ppse is sufficient to beat most wingmen.

Well, I found a prime. 3901*2^1468312+1

I think I'll look for a mega prime next.

Bragger!!! I guess 1 less for Scott Brown to scoop up
Then again, I'm only running 16's and nothing else beside WCG on the Linux rig. I might have one in the wings with 460 pending though............doubtful but possible I guess. I do not even have a DC on any though

Is that with Zero days of work stored (set in Preferences)?
Yes, zero days of work. It's also suggested to set your resource allocation to zero on the PrimeGrid Preferences page.

They did something new. If you go to the PG page, then to your account, then look at your tasks.

They either have 1st or nothing in the tine for the task description . If it says 1st, it means you beat the wingman.

If it has nothing, you were 2nd, IE the wingman. Nice new feature to see how well you are doing in the race to get the task in first.

Well, I recently found the second-largest prime found by anyone on the TeAm this year. Guess who found the largest?

Congrats, Howdy, on finding 31515202^65536+1!

Thank you,
I had a sit down with my machines and told them, if they ever want to run again one of them BETTER either do a DC or find a prime of some sort. It seems to have worked and all is good now, LOL.

I honestly thought it was a DC since nothing gave me a notification until later today. Which I would be happy with a few DC's too!! Either way............when you get 1 you want moaaarrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Edit:
I just squeaked by your prime @Ken g6...............I finally found the "score board".....

Ugh. Lucky you. High is in the 60's here, the next few days.

It's all good!! I call this "Fat Man Friendly Weather" Born and raised in it, nice to have a harsh winter once in awhile. Keeps all the wimps inside off the roads....and in the ditch!
