That has been the plan all along, Queenie is wating for William to be mature enough to take the throne so they can skip Charles. And BTW he's not abdicating so Charles could be King, she will just never be queen. If he becomes King (not likely) she would be princess consort.

I lived in England for 8yrs.

The British people do not like Charles. They adored Diana. They hate Camilla. They love William.

Also, being the King makes him the head of the Church... and it is still not properly acceptable to have a divorced head of Church. The last King to marry a divorcee abdicated the throne to do so... I have a feeling Charles will do the same. I am not too sure how they will work that though, as I cannot see him coming public and admit he is doing it for that reason. I think the Monarchy does not have the pride it used to and now thinks that as long as it rides out the public disapproval they can get away with this.

But I still dont think the public opinion will fare well with Charles being King after marrying Camilla.

Just my $0.02.. your mileage may vary.
