Ok. I have a little problem with my printer.
I have Brother HL-1440 laser printer connected to my windows xp professional machine using USB. Everything works fine and is great, but one problem.
If I shutdown my computer, then start, or restart, the printer will be offline. Under USB in Device Manager, it lists it as Unknown Device. If I unplug, and plug the usb cable back in, everything is working 100%, until I restart my computer again.
While the computer is on, the printer prints, goes to sleep mode, and will wake up again if i print something, and everything works. But if I restart my computer, I have to unplug and plug back in the USB cable, cause the printer is offline.
I have tried rebooting while it was not in sleep mode, same problem. Has anyone else experienced similar problem? Is this likely the printer drivers, or my usb ports? any settings in the bios? any settings in Windows? Pleassssse help. cause I don't wanna crawl down and unplug and plug the cable from the back everytime I power cycle my computer.
Thanks a million!
