Sorry, but we've all come to the conclusion that the paper is not stuck inside the printer. It's not a paper jam. The paper is not falling inside the printer. We've printed more than 50 pages and they are all lost. There is no space for so many sheets to be stuck inside this printer (or any other office printer) without us noticing them.

I think I should mention that I work in a software development company, so we are all good at problem-solving. The paper is not returning to the paper tray from whence it came.

Geez, you wasted this here? Had so much potential as a stand-alone parody thread too!

I wonder if anyone actually bothered to check and see if there really is any paper int he paper tray, and that the paper tray sensor is actually working.

Remind me to never hire you guys. If you cannot figure out the simplistic task of a physical problem like this, then I have no faith on you figuring out a conceptual software problem.

Your problem arose when I walked by your office, shook my fist at the heavens and yelled "Arcadiooooooooooo!".
Then this creepy mist engulfed a 4 mile radius around the island of Manhattan, and now the really weird stuff will begin.

Your work is full of fail... what company do you work for so I can spread the word to avoid purchasing any software?

And software developer =\= good hardware troubleshooter. My old man programs for a living and calls me all the time for basic stuff. He is great at what he does, but he's an engineer, not a tech... theres a difference.

Your tech support blows... I said it before.

UPDATE: we tried that, but we used tape instead of string. The piece of paper went in with the tape stuck to it, but the paper vanished as well. When we pulled the tape back, about three-quarters of the tape came out. No sign of the sheet of paper or the other one-fourth of the tape. Somehow the tape got cut off but the cut was smooth, as if someone used scissors to cut the tape. I expected to see some ink stains on the tape or some ripped paper... nope.

Most people already left work. Only a couple of us are left, plus our boss and the tech support people. Everyone is strangely quiet around the office. Lots of deep thinking going on. It looks like they're giving up. I wonder what is going on and where the paper is going....

Is this one of those larger sized printers?

Have you checked the bottom for a midget living under there that is stealing all the paper as it passes over his living room?

This is clearly the case of multiple worlds theory of the universe.

Maybe if you try appeasing the printer with animal sacrifices? Start small, like a rabbit. If that doesn't work, move on to goats, horses, etc.

Anyone that knows anything would know that Canon imageRunners have a tendency to "eat" paper - well usually caused by some dumbass sending a job that has almost the entire page black - it's too much toner and sticks to the imaging drum, and subsequent papers continue to roll up around the drum. I have seen a few dozen pages stuck on some models. Eventually it will jam.

And the tech is a moron because it's obvious if you just open the damned thing.

Which brings to mind the time-tested axiom that there is nothing more dangerous than a programmer with a screwdriver. In other words, software people are not hardware techs.

Haha, that's cool, I'd never heard of that. I'll LOL if that's what has happened to Harcadio's printer.
