I am seriously looking at buying a new printer/scanner for duplicating some photos I have.
I have noticed that there are several "quality" printers now that can print up to 2400x1200 (and thereabouts) which should give good results for 5x7. However, I noticed that most scanners are only 600x1200 "optical" scanning but have some huge resolution via Software. Would those be OK or should a person get a higher "optical" res scanner... say the equal of the printer? Is the "software" resoultion even something to look at or vice versa with optical res?
