I'm trying to install Vista 64 bit and having some issues. When I boot the dvd to install it hangs on the screen right after it loads its initial files. This lasts 20-30 minutes before it actually lets me get to the partition options.
After setting up the partition and starting the install it seems to be stuck at the expanding files step. It's stuck at 11%.
I'm wondering if it's an issue with the dvd rom being IDE.
Has anybody else had this kind of problem?
My system specs:
E8500
EVGA 750i FTW
Corsair 1000HX
G.Skill 8 GB
Samsung IDE dvd burner
640GB Western Digital
GTX 260 SLI
Thanks.
Update:
It made a jump to 30% on the expanding files step, but it's been on this step for about 35 minutes now.
Update 2:
2 hours on expanding files. 79% now.
