These are actually for separate situations....
I am having a problem updating my WinNT installation to SP6a from SP4. It continually tells me "Extraction failed. File is corrupt." But I know the file is not corrupt because it will run on every computer but one. What kind of things should I be looking for as far as a problem? How do I extract the downloaded SP6a into a directory (command-line switches)?
My next question is about my home computer. I'm looking to upgrade my OS from Windows 98 SE to either Win2k or XP. Which should I go with? I have a P3-866 w/512MB RAM, Radeon AIW, Netgear FA311, Philips Acoustic Edge, Pioneer DVD, Plextor 8x4x432x, (1) 30GB 75GXP & (1) 60GB Maxtor. I don't play many games, but do watch DVD movies with my current setup. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I do intend to do a complete reinstall with either OS.
Thanks!
