So my case which I ordered is not gonna arrive in the next 7 days. And I can't wait until then to see how my Athlon 64 3400+ and Asus A8V works. So I go on and use some boxes to make a caseless computer.
I put everything in as instructed by the manual. I also make sure that the power supply would have enough wattage so I remove one of the harddrive and also the DVD drive.
Now the comp is as follow:
Athlon64 3400+
ThermalTake Silent Boost K8 (applied the thermal compound and secure the clip)
1 160GB harddrive
Geforce FX5700LE
1 CDROM drive (don't know the brand)
All running (out of the box, literally) and on a 300W PSU (my guess), the PSU was used with my Athlon 3200+ and Nforce2 board with 2 HDD, 1CD, 1 DVD and the same video card.
The problem is, when I put in the power, the light on the mainboard lights up. I boot up and nothing appears on the screen, then I hear from the speakers, something like: "system fails since your computer is overclocking"
Please help, this must be the most stupid thing I have ever done, the whole thing cost more than $500
