Ok, so I know this sounds like a simple everyday problem, but I've done everyhting I know to do and can't find a solution. Here's the situation:
I work in an office of 12 PC's - all XP SP2 - with one Windows 2000 Server, all connected to a our DSL line through a Netgear router. All the computers get their IP through DHCP from the router, but use the Win2000 box for DNS.
Everything was working fine and dandy for weeks, when suddenly one of the XP boxes became unable to grab an IP. I was not at the machine at the time, but now when set to grab an IP through DHCP, XP reposrts that the machine can't grab an IP.
Interestingly, when I set the IP address and gateway manually, the machine *can* ping other PC's on the network, as well as the router, but it still has no internet connectivity, and does not appear to be "registered" in the router DHCP table. When the IP is assigned statically, the PC also is able to log into the office Domain just fine. I tried swappig out the network card, which resolved nothing.
Without knowing any better, I'm guessing there is some Windows setting I'm overlooking, since the hardware seems fine. But I'm pretty much out of ideas, so any help would be SERIOIUSLY appreciated.
