Problem when I partitioned Win Xp

So I made a partition for windows XP the minimum size possible to fit the OS thinking that was all I needed and I would use the remaining space to save everything else. In the process of installing the OS I didn't partition the the remainder of the disk until after I had already installed windows and I partitioned it though compmgmt.csc. Now I seem to be getting erros saying I don't have enough disk space when clearly that isn't a problem as I have a 1T drive. Do I need to reinstall Win Xp and partition the free space during that process? Thanks

XP 32bit can "see" 2 TB, actually 1.891TB. How small did you make the XP partition? Sounds like the insufficient disk space error is referring to the operating system partition itself.

it has been debunked million times that splitting OS and installed programs to different partitions is a good idea.

Yea, it just leads to headaches. If it were my system, I'd use 100gb for Windows and programs, and use a separate partition for data.

Splitting the OS and documents can be a good idea since you can wipe Windows (if needed) without affecting your documents, pictures and videos, but putting installed programs on a different drive only succeeds in causing headaches since you'll have to reinstall the programs anyway if you need to reinstall Windows...

can you create partitions from partition magic, make 50 gb as "C" install windows in NTFS file format. after installing the windows you can make partitions as you like.
