well, Unbiased, since you don't have a profile I'll put AN answer here.

There's a little hotfix from M$ that supposedly solves the problem in 98. If you have a retail version, you can get it from them.
Otherwise, pm or email me and I'll see what I can do. It may fix the problem. I had 98 on mine, but apparently the board wasn't
designed win98. Do a search for windows 98 a7n266 audio issue OR problem OR catastrophe.

just wanted to say that after I 'RMA'ed' the board back to newegg and got a new one back, it seems to work fine. i've been really busy lately so all i did was put in RAM and CPU, and of course my PS/2 keyboard. booted it up and hit 'del' to enter bios and it went right in. that means the ps/2 port works! now hopefully there will be no other issues that come up. thanks to everyone who participated in this thread.

I have also used a couple of these boards. For me the first one was a cheap RAM problem. Don't you hate it when your supplier doesn't have the stuff you want and then you end up having to stuff around with rubbish only to have to return it and get the stuff you wanted originally! Makes my customers happy when they have to wait another week!
