Dear everyone,

I got my new motherboard today. But when i try to start with my new hardware i see nothing on the screen. I can see that the motherboard is on because the CPU fan is spinning and there's a little green led indicating that the MB have power. There's also power on the GFX since the blue led fan is spinning and lighting.

I've tried to reset CMOS, provide power to nothing but the cpu, and some more.

Someone told me to set an old pci graphic card in, but nothings shows up on the screen.

What to do!? Is this a fail on the motherboard, or the CPU or the GFX? I know the RAM and powersupply works since i used it in my old system. My old system didn't require much power tho.

Here are my specs:

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester
Abit X300SE-Guru
512mb GeiL Value
Aspire 500W Power Supply.

Please help me out!

Try with one memory module in the B1 slot. Have you changed the vedio selector card from dual to single? Have the video card in the top PCI-E port?

Also do a hard clearing of the cmos, i.e., unplugging the psu from the ac source, press the power button on the front of the case, move the cmos jumpers to the 2-3 position, remove the cmos battery for a few minutes, then eplace battery, move cmos jumper back to the 1-2 position, plug the psu into the ac source and see if it'll fire up with one stick of memory in B1.

No, cause when i do that it starts beeping. How can that be? I use a 20-24 pin adapter.

You might try putting the SLI connector back in the Dual position. Several people including myself could only get it to work in the Dual position when originally setting up the board. After running for several days and updating lots of drivers, I switched back to Single mode and it worked just fine.

Also, plug some speakers into the green jack and see what kind or post messages you are getting
"Sytem failed VGA test" etc....

"No, cause when i do that it starts beeping."

The beeping indicates there is a problem. Hook up your speaker connections to the mobo and the speaker cable to your case and it will verbally tell you what the problem is.

Mine told me there was an issue with the memory when I know there wasn't. So, I have RMA'd the board and hope to get it back on Friday.

What kind of beeps?

Have you tried plugging in the extra power for the PCI-E slots?

Maybe it's a power problem?

The square 12v connector has got to be plugged in for the cpu.

Yup. If you unplug it you get no beeps and can't get anywhere and therefore can't tell what the issue is.

Problem solved everyone!

The 4pin thing is plugged in, the ram is in b1, the single/dual changer is at dual, and now it works.

Thanks a lot guys!

Lol, thanks :F I'm going to get a 6800GT, but just don't have the money right now. I'm also extending with 512mb more ram.

Ohh well, everything is better than my old GeForce2Ti200...
