Problem with Asus P4P800

I just put together a computer involving a P4P800 and a 3 GHz P4 chip. After building the computer and starting it up for the first time, the green light came on and the fans started spinning, but it didn't post at all. I powered down and felt the heatsink and it was cold. So I don't know whether the problem is the processor or the motherboard. I unplugged everything else except the video card as well as the mobo and processor, and it still won't post. I even tried another video card and still nothing. So can anyone help me?

I'm having the same problem with my p4c800, let me know what you do if you figure it out.

I had that problem with a p4c800. It turned out to be the motherboard. Once I replaced that everything was fine.

Once you replaced the motherboard all was well? Is this a major problem right now with this series of ASUS motherboards, DOA?

Had the same problem. My first P4c800 had been replaced by my supplier. Also had this "Dead" problem.

Seems to be common I guess. I did build a second system more recently with the p4c800-e again without any problems.
