Problem with Canon Bubblejet printer

I'm having a problem with my BJC-4300 where after every line the printer prints, it leaves a four thin lines of ink - blue, red, yellow (the 3 colors in the color cartridge), and black. I tried printing from DOS and Windows, replacing the ink cartridges, replacing the print head, and performing several print head cleanings, but nothing worked. Anyone ever experience anything like this?

I have experience similar situations with my HP... There are a couple of small clips beside the print cartridges on the cartridge holder inside the printer that helps hold the paper down when the ink gets spray onto it... turns out those clips collects inks overtime and when you print the next time, those ink gets on the paper... My printer works fine again after I get a Q-tip and clean the clips...

I'm not sure if that's the case with your Canon... Hope this helps...

Thanks! That was exactly the problem w/ my Canon. I cleaned it up with some swabs and it prints fine now.

EDIT: After cleaning it up, I printed a test page, and it worked fine. A few hours later.. same problem.. there was nothing to clean up and when I looked at the 'lines' that were being printed, they looked to precise to be just excess ink being printed onto the paper. And now the black ink won't print - but I know it's not out, since I replaced very recently.

Ive never owned one but several people Ive known who had bubble jets said that replacing the whole print head was the only real way to fix thier print problems..hope you can fix it cheaper but thought Id pass that on to you.

I just found out the print head I bought was remanufactured.. so that's probably why it's having problems.
