Problem with DS3L

Hi guys,

So I've set up my rig, and when i powered it up about 10 minutes ago, the CPU fan didn't run! (I'm using a ACF7Pro). So i killed the power, and connected the CPU fan to the SYS_FAN2 outlet instead of the CPU_FAN outlet. i tried and it didn't work again. So i connected the CPU fan to the PWR_FAN outlet and that worked.

It seems that SYS_FAN2 and CPU_FAN aren't working!

So i did some troubleshooting by connecting the stock intel cooler to CPU_FAN outlet on the mobo, on the side, while the ACF7Pro is still connected to the PWR_FAN outlet. And the stock cooler didn't run as expected. i've my rig running right now for the past 10 min, and suddenly the stock cooler starts running, about 5 min after i started up my rig. Strange!

What is going on? Is the mobo faulty?? right now my Current System Temp is 40degC and Current CPU temp is 25degC. My CPU fan speed (the late-running Stock cooler) is 1022RPM, the POWER fan speed is 2667 RPM. My case is CM 690

ok a little update:

so, seeing that the fan started running 5min into the boot up, i restarted the rig with the ACF7Pro fan plugged into the CPU_FAN outlet. Now it runs fine. CPU Smart FAN Mode is set to AUTO, and the fan runs at 477RPM. Temps eventually level off at 46degC System / 34degC CPU Temp. Is that healthy? I have yet to tweak anything.

you can turn off the thermal monitoring in the bios which is stopping the fan from running. i turned mine off but some are worried about fan noise so use it

If you have a 4 pin fan on the cpu cooler change the smart fan mode to PWM from AUTO. If you have a 3 pin cpu fan then change it to VOLTATE from AUTO. Mine would either run at 400rpm or not at all but not that its set at PWM its running at like 750rpm.
