I use an iBook G4 for a portable solution b/c it's only 12". I hate lugging around my huge Vista Notebook.
However, recently the HDD died on my G4 and i replaced it. Then that one died. Now I replaced the HDD's with Compact Flash cards as a SSD (Solid State Disks) solution. Now the primary master CF card is only recognized once in a while (the CF to 44IDE adapter allows 2 CF cards) and it says the Bestcomm MPC52xx is not initializing properly. I looked around for documentation for the 52xx and I could not find any, but I think it is the IDE/ATA controller. Is it dead? I don't think it is b/c it works sporatically. What is wrong with my beloved G4?
