I recently got a MSI KT3 motherboard with a Duron 900 processor from Newegg. I put it all together, and the fans and drives spin up, but nothing else; BIOS won't POST. The mobo comes with a diagnostic panel, which indicated a bad CPU. I took out the Duron and put in an Athlon XP 1800 from another system, and it booted just fine. Fast forward a few days. I get a replacement CPU from Newegg; Duron 900, same as before, and again, the system won't boot with this processor. So, what gives? According to the manual, the motherboard will work with Duron CPUs. Are there issues with this motherboard and processors with this clock speed, or did Newegg get a bad lot of processors?
