Problem with slow transfer rate with MSN

Ok here is the situation

I have my pc and my internet hook up to my gfriend laptop, wireless.Im not wireless and she is...it pass threw my router d-link.I shoot my connection to her wirelessly.

All my firewall are off.All her firewall are off.And the router firewall is OFF too.And when we transfer stuff with msn, we got very slow xfer rate and the warning that tell us we have a slow xfer rate. When we click the option that is supposed to tell us what to do to help us with that problem, we got an error message from the microsoft page...duh!I think the problem aint from my side, because i can xfer very fast with msn with my friends.

Im totally noob with these wireless router things.All i can tell you is that i got an ascii wep encryption to protect me. and my SSID is turn off .Her pc receive my connection perfectly and she can download and upload at the same speed as me with a speedtest( 313k download 75k upload...same as me.)

What can be the problem??If its not the firewall the problem...what is it???

don't transfer with msn...

it's probably a NAT issue where you are both on the same NAT

and how we change the NAT??( what is "nat" anyway?)on my router i change that???

no, you can't change that, unless you have multiple public IP's and a higher end router....just use normal sharing, instead of that craptastic MSN

Ok i will sound very noob, but how do i share file with my gfriend laptop if im not using msn??
