Problem with Stand by

Whenever i put my rig on Stand by for a long time it will not come back up, when i move the mouse the fans kick up and it starts making noise but the keyboard locks up and the light on the monitor just keeps blinking. this does not happen if the rig has only been on stand by for a short time though.
I was wondering if the power savings stuff in the bios could be my problem, it is set to disabled. oh yeah and the power button does not work, i have it set to soft off, the rest works though
what do you think?

I would disable standby if I were you. I have an IBM APtiva and have had the exact same problem. I was told (i never knew this before) that if you have a permanent internet access such as cable, standby doesn't work. Don't ask me why, but that's how it is I guess.

If you don't fall into the cable or DSL or LAn category then that blows what I just said, out the window (lol).

nope i don't have cable or DSL nor am i on a LAN thanks though. Any other suggestions?
I wouldn't mind leaving stand by off but it is a lot quieter with it on.

i've had this problem before. Still occurs ramdomly. I leave it on Standby and occasionally it will get stuck in standby. It rarely happens anymore, but sometimes standby will hang for about 10 seconds before i get back to the desktop.

I have the same problem too only I already disabled stand by! My monitor just won't wake up for some reason. I have the same mobo too. Might be that. I recently just disabled all power saving features so my Matrix screen saver's working overtime now.
