I have a new biostar 1155 mainboard that I am putting in an older case and the case has separate pins to go on the boards usb. I cant figure out which pins go where since the board does not have a specific diagram of each pin, though the pins are labeled. Can someone give me a hint, I have tried reproducing the old boards config but the usb will power but now work properly. thank you

Usually the motherboard manual has the pin order listed, if you don't have the manual you should be able to get it from biostar’s website.

Though I copied from the old board the manual for this one shows that I have them all in correctly, there are 8 and left to rt its dc, usb-, usb+, ground. I tried a usb in rear on the board and it found the drive ok, the front ones off this connection detect usb when plugged in but dont ID it and it wont show in system.

That new motherboard I am guessing has USB 2.0 and 3.0 possibly. Assuming you have it hooked up right. It might be the old wiring in the case. I have seen old cases have that exact problem when using wiring that was for usb 1.1 but connecting it to 2.0 inputs on a motherboard.....it seems like it should work but it's like using a 1.1 cable with a usb 2.0 device... it can work but it can cause some strange problems.

I don't know if this is your problem I am just throwing it out there.
