I recently flashed my bios on a Gateway NX100X (also E-100M) to the latest 76.19 version, and now the thing will POST, but it will not boot from any device, including USB stick, USB DVD drive, or (built in) SATA HDD. I can enter the BIOS set up utility (Phoenix) but as soon it's supposed to start booting from a drive, the screen goes blank and there is a little flashing cursor in the top left.
Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Looking around some forums, it appears either the flash was unsuccessful (nothing indicated this--it flashed and rebooted on its own and appeared to be fine) and my laptop is garbage. Or the flash went ok and the new bios is incompatible with something, such as my memory stick (which I upgraded from the factory). If the flash was really unsuccessful, is there any way to do a flash recovery for this system? I tried the Win + B or Fn + B trick and it doesn't appear to work. (Likewise for Fn/Win + Esc and some other combo.)
Eeeeeek!
