Problems O/C'ing Patriot Ram

I have a P5B-E rev A, E6600 and 2g of Patriot Ram (PDC22G6400LLK), the board is modded to add .3v to Vdimm, I run it at 2.2v.

I runs all day at 835 @ 4-4-4-12 without any problems. I wanted to try a higher frequency and drop the latency, my target was 1000 @ 5-5-5-15. When I run memtest I get just a few errors, when I lowered it to 975 @ 5-5-5-15 it's still about the same. I tried upping and lowering the voltage but it seems like 2.2v is the best. I was really surprised when I ran it at 2.4v to see more errors.

From what I see on the web other guys have no problems getting over 1000, I've seen another site get in the 1100's! Are there any other bios settings I can try to maybe get me past these few errors? I was thinking on trying the other two slots to see if that helps. Is it my mobo that is the problem?

I can surely live with 835, lower latency but I wanted to see what I can get out of it, I'm disappointed I can't go any higher (even though the performance may not improve any).

That memory isn't all that great for overclocking. In other words, it doesn't go alot higher than 400 Mhz, like D9's will. Try turning off EPP, and raising your timings to 5-6-6-18, and it should do at least 450 Mhz/900 DDR, I would think.

diff slots might help, dun think it's the mobo though. Maybe ya gotta learn to live with the ram simply not being able to do 1000.

Did more testing and I've concluded it is the mobo. I tried the suggestions above and it's no better.

I did find however that it will run 428fsb/856mem @ 4-4-4-12. Unfortunately is does get a bit hot so I won't leave it there. Also it seems that my processor doesn't run as efficiently at a 7x multiplier vs the original 9x for some reason.

Correction: I have a rev 1.01G not rev A, it was the first rev but wasn't called rev A.

Soapbox: I'm still disappointed in "OldEgg" that I got the older rev board. I bought this thing late March and I know they've started making the new rev last year. I also know some guys have gotten the new rev that ordered before me.

All in all I'm happy, my vid board oc's like crazy as a compensation (eVGA 8800GTS 320-P2-N811-AR, 650/950 so far).
