Hi everyone,

I've recently purchased a new mobo/cpu and am having some problems getting the onboard ethernet controller working. I'm using the most recent driver from the Realtek site and the F7 BIOS on the board (Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 rev1.0)

Steps I've tried:
- Reinstalling driver
- Reinstalling Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
- Updating BIOS

I've run the SmartLAN in the BIOS as well and that detects a link when I plug a cable into the board and my Mac at 1gbps, so I'm not really sure what to try next.

Does anyone have some suggestions on how I can fix this?

Edit: Here's the Windows log:

Did you just buy the mb? Rev1.0 or 2.0? Did you download the right drivers?

Just purchased. Rev 1.0.

Drivers were downloaded from the Gigabyte Rev 1.0 page or were listed as for the RTL8111E on Realtek's site.

I just did a cheap build recently using the z68ap-d3 r2.0. I didn't think that the r1.0 were still on sale. The network port on the pc I built is working just fine (as is everything else). I didn't even bother to update the drivers/bios. All I did was install win7-64 and then install the mb drivers using the Gigabyte cd/dvd (didn't install the fancy SW - only installed the 4 basic options).

The Realtek LAN driver version which was on the cd/dvd was 7.46.531.2011 so your current driver is a later version.

Managed to get it working last night. Bled the capacitors by unplugging the PSU and trying to boot it up. Seems to be working fine at the moment - everything is stable and it's getting 1gbps connections.

Had a similar problem where I had a code 10 on the onboard Realtek network ports on the my Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard. Loading drivers from Gigabyte or Realtek did not solve the problem. I even reloaded Windows 7 (64-bit) but got the same message. Finally went into BIOS and enabled Green LAN and Wake on LAN settings and on the next boot into Windows no more code 10 and the single network port that I have plugged it worked perfectly. I presume with some update in Windows 7, the OS now has more 'control' over the network ports.
