I do distributed-computing, and due to some issues I wanted to test, I un-overclocked my G4400 Skylake CPU, and switched my monitor cable to using the Intel iGPU, along with setting the BIOS option for primary display to "Onboard". I left "IGD multi-monitor" set to "Disabled".
I still have my 7950 3GB card installed in the system, and I'm running BOINC, and both on the prior drivers, and the very newest Crimson May 16 hotfix drivers, and Milkyway@Home is computing on the AMD GPU.
Yet, with both sets of drivers, I could NOT open "Crimson Settings". It tells me that there is no AMD GPU! Yet, clearly, BOINC and MW@Home are using my AMD GPU. So... WTF???
It seems that AMD's drivers have yet another flaw, even though the OS supports having multiple different video cards from different vendors, their drivers and control-panel only work when they are the primary. BORKED!
So, as usual, I let out a sigh... "AMD drivers @!#$@#$".
Edit: Device Manager lists both "AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series" AND "Intel(R) HD Graphics 510".
