Problems with BE6 and Highpoint (ATA/66) Controller

I know this may be an old issue, but I never seemed to resolve the problems that I have with my mobo and the controller. It acts kinda funny, and I think there is something wrong with it, but I just can't place exactly what is wrong. If someone has or had this mobo and know what I am talking please help me (BTW I have the newest drivers and BIOS updates). Thanks in advanced!

i know what you are talking about :-(

and i give you one tip: REPLACE THE BOARD OR DONT EVEN INSTALL THE HPT366 DRIVERS!

even with the newest bios (v1.25 i think) the performance was not optimal and i get
errors all the time.

after a while and hours of reading newsgroup messages about the hpt366 controller i decide to NOT USE the HPT366 controller (only have 2 hd´s) and switch to the normal udma33 controller.
from this point everything works PERFECT.

but now i use a MSi KT7PRO2A

the abit still works in my second computer.

It is not clear just what your problem is. Just to let you know that it can be done, I am running UDMA66 7200RPM dirves on both a BE6 and a BP6 with the HPT controllers and have no problems. If you could post what you have done and what the problem you are having is, you would be more likely to get meaningful help.

you are right, SOME HD´s work with the HPT366 but SOME HD´s dont and no "TRICK" will help.

Yeah, I ran both the BE6 and BE6-II and had trouble with both of them. I remember that it took a lot of working but eventualy got both to run with my WD.

the highpoint controller is a piece of gorilla sh!t. Sink like 20 bucks at get a Promise controller or something.
