I've been running stable my E8400 @ 3.8GHz (9x442 @ 1.3V in BIOS) with temps at 37/52 so I decided to push for 4.0GHz (9x445 @ 1.3V in BIOS) but I got BSOD in Windows. I then tested voltages up to 1.33125V and I was still unstable, so I gave up and went back to my old settings for 3.8GHz, only to discover that it was no longer 100% stable. I did around 10 minutes of Prime95 to be safe and it was error free so I thought I was fine, but when I opened an MP3 I locked up and had to reboot. Is this sort of thing common, where if you go back to once "stable" settings after a higher OC it won't be stable anymore?
I bumped up my Vcore by 1 step and it appears to be okay right now but I haven't stress tested it yet.
Most of my motherboard settings are on auto besides Vcore, and I have things like enhanced halt state disabled.
