Lately our LAN has been experiencing a weird problem with certain Win98 machines not loading the user's log-in script files correctly. The Win2000 and XP machines are not affected. We're certain it's not a problem with the script itself since only certain stations are experiencing this. We can see the script load during start up but none of the network drives are being mapped. The problem still exists even if the user logs off and logs back on but if the computer is restarted, the log-in script then loads correctly. If the user has to log off and log back in some time during the day, the problem would come up again.
We have tried these possible solutions but none have worked:
Disabling our PDC and using the BDC to do the user authentication.
Removed all Anti-virus software
Reinstalling the AV software and updated it to the newest scan engine and dat files
Flushing the DNS on the local machine
Anyone have suggestions on what we should look at further? Thanks.
