Problems with PC video on Westy LVM-37W1

I just got the set recently and am happy with it as my PC monitor. Only issue I have left to figure out is the following:

Whenever I play a video of any kind in WMP or VLC the edges of things like text, people, ocean waves, mountains, etc. are very noisy. Almost like it was an analog signal experiencing interference. It is very noticable from the distance I view from (within 5') and I'm unsure what the issue is. I didn't have this issue happen on my Dell 1905FP I just switched from. I've been playing a lot of the 1080p preview WMVs and it ruins the entire experience for me. Even when the video is paused the noise persists. And it's only video; games, pictures, etc. do not experience this problem. As this is my first HDTV I'm not sure whether this is just how a monitor like this is (though I can't see why) or if perhaps there are certain PC settings I might have to tweak. I don't have any programs doing any filtering of video that I know of (never installed ffdshow), and obviously all the content is progressive.

Any ideas on what the issue here is or if there is an issue at all?

I would check your codecs and make sure you don't have any filtering going on. That sounds like your problem. Ya never know with Windows! I have the same LCD and experience no problems with 'noise.'

There was no filtering going on, but I have narrowed down the problem. I changed the resolution my PC was outputting and was able to eliminate the 'noise' and get very crisp video at 1280x720 and 1280x1024. I then changed the res to 1600x900 and video was unviewable there was so much of this noise. And then back to 1920x1080 and the little bit I experienced before is back. I'm not experienced enough to know why the higher resolutions would cause this problem, though.

I tried to take screen caps of the problem but the pictures come out flawless so I can't further display what I'm experiencing.

Now it would appear that only the first video I open up is susceptible to this noise. If I open up a second video while the first is still open, the second will be crystal clear. Any clues what it could be now?

After reinstalling windows I'm faced with the same problem again. Could it be the video card having a problem? I wouldn't think so since only the first video has the problem, not all, but I don't know. I'll give my system specs in case it gives anyone a clue:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (OC'ed to 2.4Ghz)
Nvidia GeForce 6600GT (OC'ed)
Dual Channel 1GB PC3200
Windows XP SP2
