problems with video drivers

The card works find, but when I was watching a video, the pc just jammed. I reset, and when windows ask me the password, the computer jamm it, some times, just appeare the hole monitor black. I tried to swicth the drivers, but when I changed it from 16 colors to 256 or better, happen the same, it crush, a, one thing more, when I istall the drivers (nvidia or diamond), in the properties of the monitor,advance, the only thing that shows is the driver`s name, general, and nothing more (when I first installed the drivers, it shows a lot of option, from nvidia).
Well, now I am workin in 640x480 in 16 colors (if I change it, the computers crash in windows).

Sound to me like you have an issue with video drivers. Let's try starting over by going into "safe mode" (press F8 repeatedly during boot up to get to a menu that let's you select how you want to start windows), then go to your "system properties" and under "Device Manager" look for "Display adapters" and remove everything in that category so that you have no Display adapters anymore. Press ok on everything and do a normal restart, after you are back in windows, it may reinstall your nivida drivers automatically. This is where you have a choice:

1. If you let windows reinstall automatically and after the reboot you video card works again, then congradulations. But if it is still not working properly then you need to go back to safe mode and repeat the process from above and go to step 2.

2. If Windows ask you for the drivers for installation, just point it to install "Standard Display Adapter (VGA)" instead. If windows did not ask you for the drivers and managed to install it for you, don't restart when it ask you to. Change your newly installed driver to "Standard Display Adapter (VGA)" Now, restart computer with "standard display adapter (VGA)" driver again, then install the latest DirectX 7 first and finally the latest nvidia driver.

You didn't detail the exact hardware you have, which could make a difference.

Anyway, this problem could be a result of an IRQ conflict between the display card and a PCI card. If you have a card in the PCI slot adjacent to the AGP card, move it to another slot (if you have 5 PCI slots, could also be the fifth slot that conflicts).

Well, my spec are: soyo - 6vba 133; 128 ram; viper v770 ultra.

I installed windows again, and without luck, try to swicth betwen drivers and without luck, the only thing taht happen when I installed the drivers is when I enter windows there is a black backround, and If I enter (only by 16 colors, 640x480), the only setting that are in the propeties of the video card, are just the windows setting (there is no setting like nvidia opengl,etc).
The only thing that I notice is that when I change the resolution to 800x600 or better, and if I change the colors, the computers crash in win, si know I am questioning if is a problem of the board.

Please, helpe (now I am working in 16 colors, 640x480...

Kintoke, I think ET is right about the IRQ conflict. Have you tried installing Windows with just your video card in there?
